Oh Say Can You ‘C’
You’ll remember that I went to Salzburg, Austria, two years ago and loved it. Why? Well, not because I’m a huge Mozart fan (he was great and all, but whatever) or needed to purchase a pair of lederhosen. No, no. It’s because I absolutely adore The Sound of Music. Yup, I do. Say what you will, I don’t care.
So in keeping with the spirit of My Favorite Things, 2 Lazy Dogs sent me the letter C… my 10 favorite things that begin with the letter C.
1. CHOCOLATE. Like you’re all surprised with this one. Please. Once upon a time, I cut chocolate out of my life for 3 months and it was the worst 3 months of my life.
2. CABLE. No judging. I don’t have many friends here so I make friends with the people on TV.
3. CELLPHONE. Someone please tell me how I functioned before the cell?
4. CINEMA. I know how pretentious this sounds but Movies start with M.
5. CAMPFIRES. I learned how to make a fire at Girl’s Camp when I was 12 and I never cheated by lighting up a box of matches covered with dead leaves. Campfires are sort of an in-the-moment event, though, because afterwards I have an immediate need to wash my hair and change my clothes.
6. COOKIES / CANDY / CAKE. I don’t want this list to be all about food but come on… these items HAVE to be mentioned as they have saved my life on more than one occasion.
7. COLLEGE. ‘Nuff said.
8. CAPITOL. Come on… You knew this was coming.
9. CROCHET. Is this sad?
10. CONCERTS. But only the good bands, none of this Jonas Brothers crap.
#2 is not true! You have loads of friends!! I’ll second #10 for sure.
Sure I have lots of friends; they just don’t live in LA.
Let’s also add any other Disney channel teeny boppers while we’re at it.
I wouldn’t even know who those folks are… not too much Disney channel watching at my house.
I’m on board with most of these for all of the same reasons! I would agree with crocheting, but I don’t know how. It is on my to-do list… so maybe someday. Now I’m craving some chocolate!
I think Coke (diet, that is) would be top on your list.
What is the point of cutting something that isn’t deadly (smoking or skydiving) for you if it just makes you miserable. I am fighting a Mt. Dew thing now and it is killing me…enjoy your chocolate and all other things that start with “C”…
I cut the chocolate because my personal trainer made me keep a list of everything that went into my mouth. Turns out I eat a lot of chocolate. And I wondered why I wasn’t losing any weight… duh.
Cookie Monster is quite fond of this letter too…he even sang a song about this letter…
I dig Cookie Monster. Actually, I like Grover a bit better but Cookie Monster is quite the bad ass.
Well, let’s see … since we don’t call mobiles ‘cellphones’, I thought I’d try my owm:
1. Chocolate-coated coffee beans
2. Cider
3. Camera
4. Crocs (supremely ugly, but supremely comfortable)
5. Carlsberg (probably the best lager in the world)
6. Curry
7. Chips (aka french fries)
8. Cherry jam
9. Cheese and onion sandwiches
10. CDs

Crocs made it over to the UK? Horrible, just horrible. I completely forgot camera… and I love my camera! An excellent list!!!

I would have totally blanked if I had to think of 10 things I like that begin with C. I would have probably been done after chocolate. Good list!
I chocolate immediately but wound up Googling “words that begin with C”. I totally cheated.
Oh no! First cloth diapers and now I find myself defending the Jonas Brothers! I love them! I didn’t at first, but then I forced myself to take my daughter to their concert. So I memorized a couple of songs. By the time we got to the 3D movie I was dancing in my seat, changing from a Nick Chick to a Joe Girl. LOL Where is my life? Do I have a life?
Uh… OK. I really don’t have anything to say to that. Your daughter must think you’re the coolest mom on the planet!
